Elizabeth Burns

Pronouns: She/Her
 Digital Engagement Specialist
 National Audubon Society

Elizabeth Burns is passionate about helping people and birds—and helping people learn to love birds. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast and fan of wildlife, Elizabeth found her “dream job” working for the National Audubon Society after receiving her bachelor’s degree, where she became a professional communicator and part-time bird watcher and photographer.

After spending nearly eight years honing her skills at Audubon New York—a state program of the National Audubon Society—Elizabeth was hired as the Digital Engagement Specialist at a national level, while still residing in upstate New York with her husband and two (indoor) cats. In this role, she advances Audubon’s conservation and policy goals through digital advocacy, running national webinar promotion, and managing Audubon’s steadily growing texting program. Through SMS, Elizabeth contributes greatly to Audubon’s goal of growing and engaging a diverse community of bird-lovers across the hemisphere to improve the world for birds and people.
